Lladro stepping its game up
The Spanish brand, Lladro, maker of handcrafted porcelain has always intrigued me, however I can't say that I would shell out $500+ to call one my own...That is until I stumbled across the new collection called 'Fantasy', which I credit to giving good ol' Lladro a much needed breath of fresh air. The figurines shown above and directly below are pieces created by Spanish born industrial designer, Jaime Hayon (I know, I know, another Spanish plug), he calls him 'The Lover'. Ai, muy caliente!
The muted color palette is characteristic of the line's porcelain sculptures (Est. 1953), however with this new collection, the design aesthetic is much improved with a nice bright pop of color with the read heart and shoes. Still not sure if I would spend the money, but if I did, it would be on one of these pieces.
