Yellowman is a line of clothing that is wearable tattoo art. For over a decade Peter Mui traveled the world, trying to locate the world's greatest and hard-to-reach tattoo artists and built up an impressive art collection representing the finest in every tattoo style, spanning Japanese Irezumi, Maori Tribal, American Traditional, New School, Biomechanical (I never knew there was such a thing) and even the rare work from a remote Buddist monk in Thailand (talk about ambitious).
I love this quote taken off of the Yellowman website,
The Power of SKIN: Your skin is the largest organ of your body. What you are born with is what you've got for the rest of your life. It defines who you are. And no matter what color it is, it's beautiful. I met the brothers Peter and Roger Mui at this year's Sundance and was lucky enough to be given a T-shirt because lord knows I couldn't afford one of these babies on my own. Peter explained to me the intricate steps taken so that the garments art falls on the body exactly where the tattoo artist intended ensuring the integrity of the design. These T-shirts cannot be made in mass quantity and for that reason the price is high, but the product is well worth it.
We are humble disciples of pop culture gauging the countercultural zeitgeist for the next big thing/artist/band/mobile food truck. Graffiti, fashion, bicylces, photography, architecture, music, art, design and makeover scenes in movies: these are a few of our favorite things. We are also big fans of the Sound of Music, the movie and in general.
